It was a celebration of life well spent as the remains of Late Chief Sylvanus Okoye who died at eighty-six were laid to rest in his compound at Amorji village, Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area.
The funeral ceremony of late Chief Okoye commenced with funeral service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Agulu, where the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province on the Niger and Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Awka, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim advised Christians to shun too much commitment to worldly possessions.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo who was represented at the funeral ceremony by his Principal Secretary, Mr Joachin Anetoh, the member representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the Senate, Chief Victor Umeh and the State Chairman of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye thanked God for the life of Chief Sylvanus and told his family to be consoled by the fact that he lived a fulfilled life.
In a vote of thanks, the first son of the deceased, Honourable Azubuike Okoye described his father as a great man who served God in truth and holiness with his wealth.
