On the nineteenth November, 2024, Governor Chukwuma Soludo presented a budget of six hundred and seven billion naira, to the Anambra State House of Assembly, for the service of Anambra State in 2025 fiscal year.

Christened: Anambra State Budget: Changing Gears Two-Zero, the capital budget constitutes seventy-seven per cent of the total budget size, while recurrent expenditure represents twenty-three per cent.

Despite the present economic challenges in the country, Governor Soludo has continued to ensure effective implementation of his annual budgets to deliver   his Solution Agenda.

Since assumption of office Professor Soludo has sustained efforts towards tackling various problems confronting the State, including  rejiging  and strengthen the States security architecture  in line with his policy of   zero tolerance  of crime and  criminality.

In spite of the prevailing inflation and the states under performing Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, the Soludo administration has resisted the temptation to borrow to execute his Solution Agenda.

Again the governor has extended free education policy to Senior Secondary School Three  and recruited eight thousand one hundred and fifteen teachers.

The present government has also equipped Secondary School Laboratories with the required STEM equipment and increased the operational costs for both primary and secondary schools.

In  the health sector, the government has continued to offer free antenatal and delivery services to  pregnant women with more than seventy thousand women as beneficiaries so far.  Presently, three hundred and twenty-six primary health centres are being constructed, modernized and equipped.

Again, a trauma centre is being constructed at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku Awka, while the Okpoko General Hospital has been completed and fully operational and four other new general hospitals will soon be completed.

 Similarly, the administration  has initiated the construction of the Coordinated Wholesale Centre at Oba to eliminate distribution of unregulated drugs in the state.

The government has empowered five thousand graduates of the One Youth, Two skills training programme and   plans to train eight thousand seven hundred young people more while the Solution Innovation District has trained twenty thousand youths in four major technical skills and graduated one thousand five hundred youths in its Code Anambra Programme.

Governor Soludo, in his “Farm-to-Feed” programmes has distributed more than one million palm and coconut seedlings to one hundred and thirty thousand households in the second phase of his initiative

The Soludo Government has also implemented the new minimum wage of seventy thousand naira  and made a tax free cash award of ten thousand per month to all pensioners in the state.

To transform the transport sector, the government has asphalted three hundred and ten kilometers of roads in thirty months while five hundred and forty kilometers of roads are under construction.

The ongoing new Government House and Governor’s Lodge projects will soon be completed  and   the Solution Fun City, the biggest in West Africa, will also be commissioned soon while Urban and rural water schemes have been restored.

There is no doubt that the Soludo’s administration is determined to transform Anambra State.

It is expected that the state Assembly will give 2025 budget accelerated passage to enable the Governor scale up pace towards achieving  thriving and sustainable future for generations yet unborn.
