Anambra State Commissioner For Information, Dr Law Mefor received a Peace Ambassador award from the Chartered Institute of Educational Practitioners UK, CIEPUK, during its 2024 Investiture ceremony.

The event held in collaboration with Global Peace Building Network had its theme, “Knowledge Economy As Intellectual Driver For World Peace and Development”.

Speaking at the event held at Paul University, Awka, the President of the Institute, Professor Marcel Ezewonye, explained that the body is focused on diverse issues such as empowering youths through education and skills development for character and holistic reformation so as to become useful citizens and champions of a better society.


In his remark, the Country Director, of Global Peace Network, Dr. Alexander Agbaenyi noted that both organizations work together to champion a peaceful and progressive world through peace efforts and qualitative education for all.

Accepting the award, Dr. Mefor appreciated the groups for their efforts in peace building and education and volunteered to lecture students under the CIEPUK programme at Paul University.


He also harped that the state government is paying attention to education, hence the free education policy of the state government, recruitment of quality teachers, and other efforts towards giving Anambra children quality education.

The Vice-Chancellor, Paul University, Awka, Venerable Professor Obiora Nwosu thanked the groups for their efforts towards education, as the University has made itself a partner to the group’s agenda.
