Participants at a two-day retreat of the Anambra State Justice Sector Monitoring Committee held in collaboration with the Rule of Law and Anti Corruption, RoLAC, have proposed a budget for the activities of the Committee.
This, they said, will ensure effective and efficient administration of criminal cases; in line with the provisions of the Anambra State Administration of Criminal Justice Law, 2022.
Earlier while speaking on the benefits of the Committee, the Anambra State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Sylvia Ifemeje, observed that the retreat would enable members to come up with good and strategic plans, which will impact greatly on the administration of criminal justice in the state.
On her part, the state RoLAC Coordinator, Mrs. Josephine Onah, who stated that Anambra is one of the states RoLAC is supporting in the area of Administration of Criminal Justice, explained that the purpose of the retreat was for the Committee to develop its strategic plans for 2025 and assist RoLAC in identifying areas of possible support to it, as well as get participants acquainted with the International IDEA, RoLAC II Programme.
Contributing, the Chairman of the Anambra State Justice Sector Monitoring Committee and Chief Judge of the state, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, represented by Justice A.
