The Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, ASHIA, has joined the global community to commemorate this year’s Universal Health Coverage as well as launched Strategic Health Development Plan, 2025-2029.
Speaking during the exercise, the Managing Director of ASHIA, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi who noted that Universal health coverage is the ability for all people to have access to the full range of quality health services they need, when and where they need them, without financial hardship, x-rayed the progressive transition of the agency since its establishment till date, showering encomiums on Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his numerous support that have made the agency worthwhile.
The Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Obiageli Uchebo, commended ASHIA for doing a great job in the state, as well as enhancing the state’s health indices.
Also speaking, the Anambra State House of Assembly Committee Chairman on Health, Honourable Tony Muobike, described the strategic plan as a welcome development, and assured that the House will always support the agency with any legislative framework that will enhance the operations of ASHIA.
