The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has reaffirmed its commitment to combating voter disenfranchisement and strengthening public trust through better logistics, technology and voter education.
INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, who stated this at a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs, in Abuja, highlighted recommendations from the 2023 General Election review, which focused on enhancing voter management, election security and result transmission.
He said INEC plans to simplify voter accreditation by introducing computer-generated slips, and is advocating diaspora voting and special provisions for election workers and security personnel.
