Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure has urged contractor handling the reconstruction and dualization of the Nnewi-Ozubulu-Okija road to ensure timely completion without compromising quality.
Chairman of the Committee and member representing Orumba South Constituency, Engineer Emma Nwafor, made the appeal during an inspection tour of the ongoing project; as part of the committee’s oversight responsibilities.
Speaking about the sixteen point six-kilometer dual carriage way facilitated by the state government, Engineer Nwafor noted that work is progressing on the road, adding that materials and sections inspected conform to the standards outlined in the project’s construction plans.
Contributing, the member representing Nnewi North Constituency, Honourable Augustine Ike, expressed satisfaction with the speed and quality of the work done so far, and urged the contractors to maintain high standards.
Responding on behalf of the construction company handling the project, Engineer Ola Kings, assured the committee of commitment to delivering the quality project on schedule.
