In his address, the State Chairman of the Institution, Mr. Raji Adewale, explained that the seminar was aimed at helping members meet global best practices through exploring tools like the Geographic Information System, GIS, which enables equitable housing provision and addresses mapping vulnerability.
Anambra State Commissioner for Lands, Professor Offornze Amucheazi, harped on the need for data analysis, saying that timeliness and efficiency are at the heart of the Soludo administration’s effort in land administration reforms.
Different speakers at the seminar agreed that modernizing land administration and property management in Nigeria requires incorporating technology to improve efficiency, transparency, and security, and a total overhaul of the subsisting Land Use Act.
