Anambra State House of Assembly has passed the 2025 appropriation bill totaling six hundred and six billion, nine hundred and ninety one million, eight hundred and forty nine thousand, one hundred and eighteen naira, sixteen kobo for the services of government of the state for the year ending thirty-first December 2025.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Emmanuel Chigbata reports that the passage of the Appropriation Bill followed the adoption of the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation during yesterdays plenary.
Chairman of the committee and member representing Anaocha Constituency Two, Sir Ejike Okechukwu, while presenting the report, said the budget size is retained as presented by the Governor, noting that the capital expenditure was pegged at four hundred and sixty seven billion, four hundred and seventy three million, two hundred and one thousand eight hundred and thirty-seven re*presenting seventy-seven percent, and the recurrent expenditure which was one hundred and thirty nine billion, five hundred and seven million, nine hundred and fifty five thousand, six hundred and four, representing twenty-three percent of the entire budget.
In his remark, the Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, said that the passage of the budget is a great milestone for the state, and a testament of the collective synergy between the executive and legislative arms of the government.
