A winner has emerged in the Angelic Praise Hour, a gospel singing talent hunt floated by the Chief Medical Director of Princeton Orthopedic Hospital, Awka, Dr, Amechi Nwachukwu.
Mr. Folarin, a youth corps member serving in Bayelsa state, went home with one million naira after a fierce battle with eleven other contestants at the maiden edition of the Grand Finale of the programme at RHEMA ministries, Awka.
Similarly, Marian Choir of Saint Mathew Catholic Church, Amawbia clinched the first position in the choir category and went home with one-million-naira.
Presenting the cheques to the winners, the Convener of Angelic Praise Hour, Dr Nwachukwu said that his intention is to bring up talents that would continue to wins souls for Christ through music renditions.
Other consolation prizes from fourth to eleventh positions were donated by GEZO, company limited, makers of GEZO oil and rice, represented at the event by Mrs. Oby Okosa.
The winner on individual’s category, Mr. Folarin Akinbode and the choir master, Marian Choir, Saint Mathew Catholic Church, Amawbia, Mr. Patrick Etim, expressed happiness that God has raised someone to do work of evangelism through songs.
Correspondent Ngozi Obileri reports that five judges from different church denominations were adjudicators at the event.
