The commercial city of Onitsha is gradually experiencing urban-rural drift as most of the residents are traveling to the hinterlands for Yuletide.

Most busy areas and roads are now ghost of its self as few vehicles ply major roads and shops and stores under lock and key.

Holiday makers were also seen at various bus stands with their luggage heading to the hinterlands.

Correspondents Blessing Ijedibia was at the hinterland and observed lots of merriment and also interacted with a youth David Okechukwu and a primary three pupils Chimankpam Nwachukwu, who expressed delight in celebrating the Christmas in the hinterland.
