As part of activities to mark the end of the year 2024, Awka Indigenes in the Diaspora Union has organized a get-together in Awka; to enable members fraternize with each other, make merry, examine collective achievements in 2024 and plan on how to impact lives and move the union to a greater height in 2025.

In his remark at the event that attracted Awka indigenes living at home and in various parts of the world, the President General of Awka Indigenes in the Diaspora Union, Barrister Godwin Moneke, represented by the Chairman Home-Front branch of the union, Mr Ifeanyi Anaekie, commended members for their various contributions to the progress of the union, and explained that the group is out to help the less privileged in the society, reason they visited motherless babies home this period; as part of activities to mark the end of the year.

He appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for transforming Awka into a real capital city, and appealed to the Governor to address the issue of insecurity in various parts of the state, especially in Awka.

 

The eldest member of the union, Chief Nwonwuka Mba, commended the unity among members of the group, reminding them that it is only in togetherness that they can achieve their collective goals.

The Chief Media Director of the union, Chief Arinze Anigbogu, other members of the union, including Mrs Nkoli Ugboma, Chief Obinna Anaeto, Chief Ebuka Ikegbunem, expressed confidence in the leadership of the union.
