Late Mrs  Lois Onyeakpa (Alias Oshingo Umuagbara)  was born in 1936 to the family of late Mr Abel Okeke and late Mrs Bridget Okeke of Umuozonde Amaoba Village Eziagu in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Late Mrs   Onyeakpa  was born to  an Anglican Christian family as the first daughter and second child of her parents. She was cherished by her parents that made them fondly call her “Nwamma”.

She  attended her early education at Ikpanwaojukwu Primary School and later  got married in the early nineteen fifties to her late husband late Mr Innocent Onyeakpa of Ndikpa Umucheke Ururo Village Umunze in Orumba South Local Government Area.  After her marriage, she proceeded to further training as required of married  women during her own time.  Late Mrs   Onyeakpa was blessed with nine  children  with five surviving male children among them is Barrister Ndubuisi Onyeakpa.

She was a hardworking woman who engaged herself in trading  which took her to various parts of Eastern Nigeria including  Enugu, Aba, Onitsha among others. She was among the pioneer market women that introduced selling of sieved cassava at Nkwo Umunze as well as  distribution  of Okro from Orumba South to Enugu, Onitsha and beyond.

Late Mrs   Onyeakpa was a devoted member of Anglican Church and a member of Women’s Guild Organization and Mothers Union. She and her husband late Mr. Onyeakpa assisted in propagation of Anglican faith in their area through baptism and introduction of members of their community into the Anglican faith. Her late husband was a number one man in the group “C” of Igwebuike group meeting of St. Augustine Anglican Church Umunze.  Late Mrs   Onyeakpa  in her social life, was a member of Women wing of Umucheke Umunze, and a strong member of Umuada Eziagu called “Umuokpu”. She was a benevolent, peace loving and  kind hearted woman who trained all her children in education and Christian life despite the demise of her husband in two thousand and ensured  that all her children got married.

She will be greatly missed by her children, brothers, sisters, relatives, In-laws and grand-children, who usually play and dance with her. The mystery of life and death is only known and controlled by God.  Late Mrs   Onyeakpa   lived a fulfilled life and her demise has created a vacuum in the family.  She  fought a good fight and finished her race and she created a positive impact in the sand of time.

We pray that her gentle soul rest in the bosom of the Lord.

Mama Jee nke oma, until we meet to part no more.

Adieu Oshingo Umuagbara.

Adieu Mama.
