The Nigeria Police Force says it has achieved significant breakthroughs in its fight against crime, with recent operations dismantling dangerous criminal networks and recovering illicit arms.
A statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, reeled success stories underscoring the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to combating organised crime and enhancing public safety nationwide.
It said, in Delta State, operatives of the Force Intelligence Department – Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) arrested Ogaga Dickson, 35, a key member of the gang responsible for the murder of the Divisional Police Officer of Agbarho Division, Hassan Jega.
Jega was killed in a fierce gun battle on October 14, 2024, while foiling a robbery, where the police had neutralised four gang members during the encounter and recovered an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, ammunition, and six exotic vehicles.
The statement disclosed that in Plateau State, operatives busted a child-trafficking syndicate led by Pastor Dayo Bernard of End Time Army Ministry, Bukuru.
Five children aged two to four were rescued, and four accomplices were apprehended.
Investigations revealed the abduction and sale of 13 children, all of whom have now been reunited with their families.
According to the statement, efforts to recover illicit arms have yielded results, with 14 AK-47 rifles recently confiscated under directives from the Inspector General of Police.
