In a practical demonstration of the saying that it is more blessed to give than to receive, Nelvia Empowerment Foundation, during its annual thanksgiving, showered widows in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area, the love of God.
The thanksgiving programme with the theme, “Deepest appreciation to God”, took place at Redeemed Christian Church of God, Open Heaven Parish, Amichi, and featured skill acquisition, financial empowerment, distribution of foodstuff, medical treatment and visit to incapacitated widows.
The benefactor, Mrs Winifred Okafor, represented by her younger brother, Mr Chukwudi Okeke, pointed out that the annual programme is to empower helpless widows and their fatherless children, and encourage them to always look up to God as their ever present Help.
Some of the widows who received rice and free medical services, including Mrs Maureen Umeh, Mrs Oby Umeh, noted that Nelvia Empowerment Foundation carries out the philanthropic gesture yearly despite the difficult situations in the country, and prayed God to replenish her.
