Umuakwu Oraike Kindred, Enugwu Aguleri in Anambra East Council Area has celebrated its maiden cultural fiesta instituted to foster peace and conviviality amongst the people; while preserving their culture.
According to the Commissioner For Power and Water Resources, Engineer Julius Chukwuemeka, the cultural event offers opportunity for the people of Enugwu Aguleri to be aware of their heritage, and to recognize those that have made the community proud.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Media, Mr. Pius Igwe, explained that the event also brings to the fore known cultural narratives of Umuakwu people against modern day distortion.
While Dr. Innocent Okonkwo described Aguleri as the ancestral home of Ndigbo, Mr. Obinna Agbata and Mr. Ignatius Onyibor maintained that the cultural fiesta promotes joy, happiness and unity which Umuakwu is known for.
