The Nigeria Police Force NPF, has announced February 1, 2025, as the start date for the enforcement of third-party vehicle insurance laws nationwide.

 

This was revealed during a meeting between the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Commissioner for Insurance, Olusegun Omosehin, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The Commissioner, accompanied by top officials from the National Insurance Commission, NAICOM, commended the IGP for his strides in police reforms.

 

Responding, the IGP stressed that it is a legal requirement for all vehicle owners to obtain third-party insurance under Section sixty eight of the Insurance Act and Section three hundred and twelve of the 1945 Motor Vehicle Act.
