Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr Nnaghe Obono Itam, has solicited more support and prayers for members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria; as they lay their lives daily in service of the nation.
Speaking to the ABS after the thanksgiving service at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith, Awka to mark the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration, Mr Itam called on Nigerians and Ndi Anambra in particular to sustain their prayers and support for the members of the Armed Forces, saying that their sacrifices are critical to sustaining peace and ensuring that people sleep with their eyes closed.
For the State Commander, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Mr Daniel Onyeishi, the celebration is also an avenue to raise fund and come up with initiatives to cater for the families of security officials who died in active service to the nation.
On his part, the Chairman of Nigerian Legion, Anambra State Council, Dr Benedict Agbaogu, called for support of both government and individuals to better the lot of servicemen.
