Anambra Ministry of Lands has ended interactive retreat with focus on need for improved performance.

Declaring the retreat open, the Anambra State Commissioner for Lands, Professor Offornze Amucheazi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria stated that appraisal for promotion in the ministry henceforth is to be based on the performance of staff and no longer on years of employment into service.

Professor Amucheazi said that the new policy thrust, is in line with the vision of Professor Chukwuma Soludo to create an effective and efficient workforce.

On her part, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands Mrs. Nkeiru Mokwe, urged the staff to be more dedicated to duties and charged the participants to make good use of the knowledge garnered from the retreat.

A resource person, Mrs. Nwando Obiano, while harping on the sensitive nature of land administration, encouraged staff of the ministry to be more transformational and thorough while discharging their duties in order to add value to the system.

Another guest speaker and a partner of MP-Infrastructure, Mr. Chimmy Ogbulie while encouraging staff of the ministry to have self-worth as custodians of the State’s land assets being staff of the ministry charged participants to remain as professional as always and appealed to the leadership of the ministry to find ways to always reward the staff for their unwavering commitments to duties.
