A transformative workshop aimed at reorienting the youth apprenticeship scheme has been held at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center, Awka.

The workshop, which attracted hundreds of youths under the “Umu Boi” Scheme of the ‘One Youth Two Skills’ programme of the state government, was organized by the Ministry of Youth Development, with the aim of enhancing the effectiveness of the apprenticeship programmes and better aligning them with the needs of the modern workforce.

The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mbah, who thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for investing heavily in improving the “Umu Boi” Scheme, explained that for the first time in the history of the state, the government is seriously giving back to the market, more than it is taking from it, even as the President General of Anambra State Amalgamated Traders Association, Chief Humphrey Anuna, noted that the Governor has the interest of the youth at heart.
