The Mayor of Orumba South local government area Mr. Shedrack Azubuike, has unveiled skills development initiative aimed at equipping the youths with practical and income-generating skills.
At a one-day interactive session with the youths of the area at the Council Secretariat Umunze, Mr. Azubuike said the programmes ranging from Programming and development, digital skills and literacy, cyber security, vocational skills and solar installation are designed to enhance entrepreneurship.
While empowering Mr. Nnaemeka Okoliofor, a former member of Orumba South Local Government strike force with one million naira, the Mayor said the initiative is part of his vision to position Orumba South as a hub of innovation and enterprise.
National President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, Youth Wing, Mr. Ken Okoli, described the initiative as a transformative step that would empower youths with sustainable opportunities.
Some youths, including Mr. Dozie Onyekachukwu and Mr. Timothy Nwafor, made contributions on how to better their local government and the state in general.
