The Director of Anambra State Fire Service, Mr. Emmanuel Chiketa, has advised the public to always ensure that good distances are maintained between their properties and bushes.

Speaking after firefighters contained a fire outbreak that emanated from nearby bush, which affected some equipment in the Chemistry and Biology Laboratories of Community Secondary School, Isiagu, in Awka South Local Government Aarea on Friday, Mr Chiketa, who dropped other fire-safety tips such as not hoarding fuel at homes, having functional fire extinguisher, and fire service number: 0-8-0-6-9-6-5-4-2-5-5, said the measures will help to control and reduce devastating effects of any fire outbreak.

Reacting to the fire incident, a social media user on Facebook, Ebuka Ugwu, however argued that villagers are supposed to take care of bushes surrounding such buildings as school, as he said that Government will not do everything for the people.
