Few days after substantial compliance to traffic light on the part of motorists was reported in Awka, a Toyota Corolla driven by a clergyman and Toyota Venza driven by a trader crashed yesterday at Aroma junction, Awka, the state capital, leaving a woman with broken leg, according to sources present at the scene.

While the clergyman coming from the Ekwueme Square road, Hyacinth Azodo, said he still had green light to continue moving, the trader on the Enugu – Onitsha Expressway, Azubike Ezenwobi, also said traffic light signaled him to move.

While FRSC and ARTMA Officials present declined comment, an eyewitness at the scene and driver with Star Sunny Motors who identified himself as Mr Collins said there is need for CCTV camera at such strategic places, adding that motorists usually quarrel with officials over traffic light violations.
