The Principal of Bishop Crowther Seminary, Awka, Reverend Canon Jonathan Ikpoyi, says the school is poised to using sports and creating a conducive environment for complete child development.

In his address at the thirty-first Inter-house sports competition of the school which was by sports enthusiasts, including the Managing Director of ABS, Mr Christopher Molokwu, Reverend Canon Ikpoyi explained that sport is a major tool in the enhancement of the mental alertness of any child thus, and helps to ensure academic excellence.

Addressing the gathering, the Proprietor of the Seminary and Archbishop, Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim said Inter-house sports competition helps to remind people of the importance of being physically healthy; as only a healthy person can operate spiritually, while the Chairman on the occasion, Comrade Amaechi Ejiogu, and the PTA Chairman of the school, Ambassador John Ifejika noted that the event is an avenue to harvest raw talents.

The event with the themed, “Sports: A veritable tool in curbing the menace of social vices among youths”, featured match past, football tournament, athletics, staff and parents races, after which special prizes were given to participants with outstanding performances.
