A Civil servant, Mr Umeadi Anigbogu has called on the Federal government and Central Bank of Nigeria to stop the proposed increase in Automated Teller Machine, transactions fee that will start next Month to ease the financial hardship faced by Nigerians.
Mr Anigbogu noted that the proposal is retrogressive as excessive tax slows down the economy and urged the federal government to find a way to enhance economic activities that will better the life of the masses.
On his part, a retired Director in the Anambra State Office of Head of Service, Establishment and Pensions, Mr Festus Nwabue said that the proposal is a welcome development provided it will encourage economic growth.
