All shops at the popular Eke Awka Market were under lock and key in the early hours of yesterday as the Market leadership led other traders on a special clean up exercise in the market which lasted for five hours.

Speaking to the ABS shortly after the exercise, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman of Eke Awka Market, Sir Charles Anierobi, who emphasized the importance of clean environment in business transactions, maintained that the cleanup exercise by all the traders in Eke Awka Market was as a result of the directive by the Anambra State Government that traders must engage in routine sanitation of their various markets, and thanked the Executive Chairman of the market, Chief Jude Agummadu, for his support.

Other traders, including the Vice Chairman of the market, Chief Echezona Obiano, and Secretary, Emeka Anaedozie, and Mrs Chizoba Okafor, who described the turnout of traders for the cleanup exercise as encouraging, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for all his efforts towards restoring the confidence of investors and traders in Anambra State, and reassured him of the support of Eke Awka Market traders to his administration.
