Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Comrade Don Onyenji, has provided clarity on the government’s stance regarding nightlife and the regulation of traditional medicine practitioners.
Speaking at the Government House, Awka, Comrade Onyenji reassured citizens that the state government supports vibrant nightlife that contributes to cultural richness, tourism and urban development, and emphasized that no official directive restricting individuals from moving around at night was issued by the government.
He however urged citizens to enjoy nighttime activities responsibly, warning that while the right and freedom to move about freely at night is important, it is crucial that individuals remain vigilant and avoid any activities that may lead to criminal behavior.
On regulation of traditional medicine practitioners, Commissioner Onyenji pointed out that the government has directed that practitioners of traditional medicine to be profiled without any associated registration fees, saying that the measure is designed to ensure that all practitioners are genuinely operating.
