Stakeholders and traders at Allied Building Building Materials Market, Oyi have debunked the rumors and false claims of some individuals that their shops were sealed without providing alternative shops in their new site.
Speaking at a press conference, the Chairman of the Market, Mr Ejike Ignatius, said the traders agreed that 31st January 2025 would be their deadline to relocate to their new site; as the former was no longer enough for their business, adding that shops are available for every member who has completed his levy as agreed.
Former Chairman of Iron Dealers Union, Chief Nnaemeka Onuzilike, who noted that a few members of the union at the Harbour Industrial Layout, Atani Road, are the ones at loggerheads with the stakeholders, pointed out that there are over a hundred shops made available for them.
The current Chairman of Iron Dealers Union, Chief Evaristus Ejezie, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Mr Simon Nsofor, and a stakeholder, Chief Mark Ezepue, explained that shops were sealed at the old site of the Market on government’s directive, calling on all members to come to the new site at Nteje where business activities have commenced in earnest and get shops.
