The maiden Awka South Women Entrepreneurship Conference organized by the Centre for Innovation and Creativity, Amawbia; and supported by the Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honorable Chukwumma Okoye, has been held at Saint Peter’s Anglican Church, Amawbia.
The conference designed to empower participants with knowledge on entrepreneurship; including how to enhance their skills and grow businesses, featured lectures on entrepreneurship.
Speaking at the event, the Proprietor, Center for Innovation and Creativity, Amawbia, Dr. Okey Cyril-Nwuche, who noted that empowering a woman has multiplier  effects; starting from the family, said beyond giving items which are usually sold due to lack knowledge on how to use, it is important to equip people with entrepreneurship knowledge for better outcome.
Describing women as the backbone of the economy; even with challenges facing them, the Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Right Honorable Okoye, noted that the event is in line with the Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s objrctives, including empowering people economically to be self-reliant.
