Anambra State Government, through the state Primary Healthcare Development Agency and in collaboration with the twenty-one local government authorities have distributed a total of three hundred and fifty telemedicine communication gadgets to three hundred and twenty-nine Primary Healthcare Centres and twenty-one local government area health facilities across the state.

 

Speaking during the distribution exercise which took place at Nibo in Awka South Local Government Area, the Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Pharmacist Chisom Uchem, who said that the telemedicine communication gadgets were part of the commitment of the Soludo administration to giving the people of the state more access to quality, efficient and affordable healthcare delivery, charged the beneficiaries to make proper use of the equipment.

Mayor of Awka South Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Okafor, who was represented by his Deputy thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for all his efforts in transforming the state, especially for according priority to healthcare delivery, and called for proper management of the telemedicine communication gadgets to ensure that the purpose was not defeated.

A representative of Ward Development Committee from Nkpor in Idemili North Local Government Area, Dr Augustine Ikezue, who commended the Anambra State Government for the introduction of telemedicine communication gadgets in hospitals across the state, also called for proper sensitization campaign in the media on immunization to ensure adequate coverage.
