In Awka, the exercise, which took off from Dr Alex Ekwueme junction and ended at Eke Awka, had in attendance staff of the state Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, and members of Supporters of Good Governance.
Speaking to the public during the walk for life, the state Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo, called on parents and the society at large to shun all forms of ritual practices such as Oke-ite, fake practice of Eze nwanyi and Dibias, noting that the Soludo administration does not tolerate rascality of any form.
The walk for life ended with the women unanimously praying against kidnapping, killings and ritual activities in the state, and encouraged everyone to speak out when they see evil.
