Privileged Women have been urged to show love to less privileged women and girls, as well as marginalized women and widows.

 

Queen Anigbogu reports that the Chairman, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, Awka, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, made the call in commemoration of the International Women’s Day.

 

On whether women have equal rights and opportunities in Nigeria as their male counterpart, Professor Ikediugwu pointed out that the Federal and Anambra State Governments are gender-sensitive, but there is need to encourage young women to join politics so they can be mouthpiece to the womenfolk.

 

Speaking further on the gender-sensitivity of Anambra government, Professor Ikediugwu, who is also the Coordinator, Federation of African Women Educationists in Anambra and the South-East, emphasized that government is ensuring that the girl child gets adequate information, protection and guidance that would enable her get quality education which will help her at the end of the day to earn a living.
