The Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted one hundred and twenty-five thousand liters of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, in Kebbi State, disrupting an anti-smuggling operation.

Customs said the seizure, carried out under Operation Whirlwind, is the largest fuel bust recorded since the initiative began.

Speaking at a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi today, the National Coordinator of Operation Whirlwind, Mr. Hissaini Ejibunu, described fuel smuggling as a major economic threat contributing to revenue losses, artificial scarcity, and security risks.
