Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has rescued a mentally ill woman along with her two malnourished children and send them for treatment and rehabilitation at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka.
Government House Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that the woman, who identified herself as Catherine Omekaozodi from Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area, was found with her children at Nkwo Market, Ovollo Village, Mbaukwu, in Awka South Local Government Area, where she had been living with her children.
Speaking on the intervention, Dr Ibezim stated that the gesture was part of his commitment to supporting the good governance initiatives of Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the efforts of his wife, Dr Nonye Soludo in improving the welfare of women and children in the state.
