Churches denominations today celebrate mothering Sunday in commemoration of the role of mothers in families and society in general.
There will be church services and mass to commemorate the day where women will perform various activities of the church and their husbands and children will celebrate them with special prayers and gifts as pillars of their various homes.
Speaking on the significant of the day, the President, Women’s Ministry, Province of The Niger and Diocese of Awka, Mrs. Martha Ibezim said that the society needs persistent prayers and dedication to overcome challenges destroying families including moral decadence, divorce and domestic violence challenging women to remain focused to rebuild their homes.
Mrs. Ibezim urged women to be supportive of their husbands and be a good teacher to their wards while calling for regular monitoring, prayers and healthy lifestyle so as to groom God fearing children.
