The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, NCDC, has recorded three thousand four hundred and sixty-five suspected cases of Lassa fever, six hundred and forty-five confirmed cases, and one hundred and eighteen deaths across ninety-one local government areas in thirty-three states between January and March 2025.
Director General of the NCDC, Dr Jide Idris, who disclosed this in a statement in Abuja, said that in an effort to respond and strengthen outbreak control, the agency has activated the Lassa Fever National Emergency Operations Centre at Response Level, which allows for improved coordination across all stakeholders, federal, states, local government, and developmental partners.
