Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, has cautioned mothers against sending their children of school age to hawking during school hours, reminding them of the consequences of such and existing government law.
Speaking on this year’s Mothering Sunday, Professor Chuma-Udeh, who described education as the currency for the future, charged parents to always place priority on the education of their children, especially the girl child, reminding them of the need to use the free education policy of the Soludo administration to bequeath their children sound and quality education.
The Education Commissioner, while warning school Principals, school heads and teachers against sabotaging the free education policy of the state government, advised mothers not to allow undue quest for materialism make them lose focus of their responsibilities in the family, especially in the area of child upbringing.
