Today is April Fool Day. It is a day for pranking one’s friends and relatives to see if they will fall for it.
April Fool Day; marked on the first day of April annually originated from Europe and aims to foster friendship; with comic relief and practical jokes.
Speaking on its essence, a public affairs analyst, Dr Dennis Ekemezie, explained that the day is also known as “fools day”, and advised people to be moderate in their jokes and pranks, and to be on guard to escape falling for such pranks.
On his part, Barrister Uche Egwu noted that the day is mostly marked by children and youths, even though some adults indulge in it to relish childhood memories, as it helps to increase the bond of friendship, calling for moderate pranks and jokes, so as not to cause serious medical problems to anyone.
