An Abuja-based consultant on industrial-related matters, Chief Ernest Okafor, has called on both the federal and state governments to create more enabling environment for the speedy industrialization of the country.

Speaking to the ABS in Awka, Chief Okafor described the private sector as a key player in the nation’s economy, and called on the federal government to always make policies that will be business-friendly, noting that  epileptic power supply, multiple taxation, among others, are major problems facing industrial development in Nigeria.

He urged Nigerians to always take pride in patronizing home-made products to ensure the growth of the private sector, in addition to improving the Gross Domestic product of the nation.

Chief Okafor, who is also a community leader in Awa, Orumba North Local Government Area, called on the people of the state who have industries in different parts of the country to bring part of their investments home, especially now that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is building road infrastructure, adding that the construction of the Ufuma-Awa-Ndiukwuenu-Okpeze-Ndiora-Amansea road by the Soludo administration has given the people of the areas sense of belonging.
