Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has restated his commitment towards consolidating on achievements recorded in security of life and property.
Professor Soludo was speaking while commiserating with Reverend Father Emmanuel Obimma, popularly known as “Fada Ebube Muonso” over the death of their mother, Mrs Grace Obimma who died at age 88.
speaking during a funeral mass celebrated in honour of the deceased at St. Williams Catholic Church, Nkwelle-Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area, Governor Soludo recalled the level of insecurity in the state when he assumed office where eight local government areas were at the mercy of criminal non-state actors and expressed satisfaction that his government has reclaimed the areas.
The Governor comforted the family of the deceased over their loss and commended the church for leading the way in the promulgation of the state burial law in 2019, explaining that it promotes giving the living a befitting life and the dead a decent burial.
Governor Soludo reiterated that the ban on posters, brochures, among others is still in force, adding that the announcement will be circulated across the state.
Speaking earlier, Reverend Father Obimma appreciated those who came to support them in their time of grief, especially the Governor.
The Vicar General of Onitsha Archdiocese, Reverend Father Prudentius Aroh who delivered the homily, described the late Mrs Obimma as having led a life worthy of emulation and asked the family to sustain her good legacies.
