The traditional ruler of Neni in Anaocha Local Government Area, Igwe Damian Ezeani has apologized to Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the Anambra state government after being suspended for contravening the Code of Conduct for Anambra State Traditional Rulers on conferment of chieftaincy titles.

 

In a press briefing in his palace at Neni, Igwe Ezeani said he sincerely apologizes for the mistake made during his ofala festival.Chibuzo Okoye reports that

the monarch who is the Chairman, Anambra Central Council of Traditional Rulers, noted that he holds Governor Soludo in a high esteem, and will not do e to undermine his administration.

 

Igwe Ezeani who further revealed that the 2023 ofala festival was his second after twenty years of coronation, made it clear that he does not play partisan politics and can never do that under any guise.

 

The Neni monarch maintained that his Ofala committee was responsible for choosing who to give chieftaincy title or not, and promised that such mistake will not repeat itself again.

 

Igwe Ezeani, appealed to the state government not to allow his regrettable acton to affect his Ndi Ichie and Neni people negatively, promising that such avoidable act can never repeat itself anymore.

 

The Neni traditional ruler made it clear that Governor Soludo loves his community as they recently signed the water reticulation scheme with the Anambra state government.

 

Igwe Ezeani also appealed to the Governor to forgive any monarch from Anambra Central Senatorial zone who might have contravened the law, and assured that henceforth, such mistake will never reoccur again.

 

He assured that Neni community will continue to support the Soludo led administration for it to succeed.
