Soludo administration has rescued one Miss Tania Okpala, a United States based tennis champion who was found wandering along the streets of Awka and was captured in a viral video on social media by a good spirited individual.

 

Miss Okpala looked distressed and unstable in the said video, prompting the quick response by the Anambra State Government to rescue, rehabilitate, and reunite her with her family.

 

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare Mrs Ify Obinabo received the directive from Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his wife Nonye and immediately swung into action.

 

Interacting with Miss Tania on phone, Mrs Soludo assured her that the State government will not forsake her and informed her that she will get the best treatment and rehabilitation to enable her bounce back.

 

Mrs Soludo further assured her that the State government will ensure her full recovery and re-integration into the society.

 

While explaining her ordeal to Mrs Soludo, Miss Tania who hails from Nkpologwu in Aguata local government area said she is a United States based tennis champion but due to bad peer influence became a crack cocaine addict.

 

She also explained that she had the best of education within and outside the country.

 

Miss Tania, whose mother was from Belarus, said she lost her mother to cancer few years ago and ever since has not been able to get over her demise.

 

According to the United States based tennis champion, she has a six-year-old daughter currently staying with her father in Nkpologwu and urged the governor’s wife to help her reunite with her daughter.

 

Meanwhile, Miss Tania, is currently receiving treatment at Peace Neuro Center and Clinic Awka.

 

This is coming in fulfillment of the promise by Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his wife Nonye to Miss Tania.

 

Miss Tania was taken to the clinic immediately after being rescued, where treatment commenced immediately.

 

She is being attended to by Dr Casmir Nnaemeka, who first conducted series of tests on her, cleaned her wound before proceeding to administer professional care and medication.
