About one point seven kilometers out of the two-point five kilometers Port Harcourt Road, Onitsha has been asphalted.
work on the road and reports that when ABS arrived at the site, men of the Ferotex Construction Company handling the project were seen laying asphalt on one portion of the road, having already completed asphalting on one side of the road.
More materials were also seen arriving at the site in readiness for use.
Speaking on the development, the project Engineer, Mr Ola Kings said that they are working hard to complete the road by the weekend.
Engineer Kings explained that the road is ten-point three meters wide with walk ways on both sides of the road, adding that the asphalt is six centimeters compacted to five centimeters.
In their separate reactions, the Chairman of J Goodwill motor park Onitsha, Mr Chinonye Ezenwa and the chairman God’s Favour Building Materials, Onitsha, Mr Ignatius Ejike said that indeed solution has come to Anambra state, noting that they can now see evidence of their struggles unlike when the road was bad when they spend their hard-earned money repairing their vehicles.
Also, a tricycle driver Mr Anthony Onyemaechi and Miss Chidiogo Nwogbo while appreciating Governor Chukwuma Soludo for fulfilling his campaign promises to Ndi Anambra, said they are happy with what he is doing in terms of road infrastructure, urging him not to relent.
They pledged total support to his administration which they said is doing marvelously well.
