Anambra State government through the Ministry of youth development has organized a one-day workshop for Media volunteers from the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the State.

 

 

 

The workshop was to upgrade their capacity and reposition them for the next phase of “One Youth, Two Skills” youth empowerment programme.

 

 

 

Declaring the workshop open in Awka, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, said that the capacity building workshop will enhance the service delivery of the volunteers in order to achieve effective media coverage and publicity for the programme.

 

 

 

He explained that training the Media volunteers in their various fields will sharpen their skills for effective and optimal performance so as to achieve the desired objective of the programme.

 

 

 

Mr. Agha Mba called on the participants to maximize the opportunity provided by the training to improve their service delivery.

 

In a paper presentation, a resource person and Information Communication Technology expert, Mr. Castro Ideke, highlighted the need for synergy and importance of media in achieving a universal coverage for the programme.

 

 

 

Mr. Dominic Okagbue thanked the State government, the commissioner, Mr Agha Mba, for giving them the opportunity to be among the beneficiaries, pointing out that the workshop will go a long way in improving their performances.
