A Medical Practitioner, Sir Emeka Eze has joined in the call on parents of Igbo extraction to teach their children Igbo language, emphasizing that people’s language is their identity.
Dr Eze made the call while delivering a paper titled “Re-appraising the importance of the Council of Knights in the development of Awka Diocese” during the just concluded Awka Diocesan Council of Knights first quarterly colloquium at Mount Zion International Retreat Center, Kamali Estate, Awka, in Awka South Local Government Area.

appreciated the Council of Knights for the platform, saying that when issues are discussed in one’s native tongue, it makes everyone to become part of the development and change process.
On their parts, Ladies Auxiliary Josephine Ilokanuno, Eunice Mesigo and Norah Egwuatu commended the choice of language used by the keynote speaker which gave them an in-depth understanding and carried them along in their role and expectations in the church and in their various communities and thanked Sir Emeka for being deeply rooted in Igbo language despite spending most of his life abroad.
On his part, the President, Awka Diocesan Council of Knights, Professor Emma Ezenwaji and Public Relations Officer of the Council, Sir Okey Chukwuogor enjoined participants to put into practice the resolutions of the colloquium in order to bring the positive change required for the transformation of Awka Diocese.
