The Deputy Commander General, DCG, of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service, NHFSS, in charge of Technical Services, Mr John Metchie, has commended the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, Mr Aderemi Adeoye for the cordial working relationship between the Police and the Hunters in the State.

 

Mr Metchie gave the commendation while speaking to newsmen on the courtesy visit by the Anambra State Command of the NHFSS to the Police Commissioner which took place yesterday at the Police Command’s headquarters, Amawbia.

 

He described CP Adeoye as one of the finest security officers one can find anywhere in the world and said that the Police Commissioner’s leadership gallantry and the motivation he gives to officers and Men under his Command had led to drastic reduction in crimes and criminalities in Anambra State.

 

According to Mr Metchie, who is also the Prime Minister of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, CP Adeoye’s willingness to receive and share intelligence with the Army, the DSS and other sister security agencies as well as local community leaders, was responsible for the piece being enjoyed in Anambra State currently, under Professor Chukwuma Soludo.

 

DCG Metchie, on behalf of the Commander General of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service, Dr. Wole Joshua Osatimehin, thanked CP Adeoye and promised that officers and Men of NHFSS will continue to complement the role of the Police and other security agencies in order to rid the country of banditry, kidnapping, terrorism and other similar crimes in Anambra State and across the country.

 

Earlier the Anambra State Command of the NHFSS led by the Commander, Chief Titus Ogudogwo told CP Adeoye that they were in his office to thank him for the existing working relationship between the Police and Hunters in the State.

 

Chief Ogudogwo who was represented during the courtesy visit by the Deputy Commander Admin, Mr Emmanuel Jonas, said they were also there to seek ways towards fostering peaceful and operational collaboration.

 

Responding Mr Aderemi Adeoye thanked the delegation for the visit.

 

He acknowledged what he described as the invaluable expertise and local knowledge possessed by the Nigeria Hunters and Forests Security Services and emphasized the importance of harnessing their capabilities to augment existing security efforts.

 

The Police Commissioner commended Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service for the efforts and resilience in the discharge of their duties and encouraged them not to relent.

 

The CP also unveiled his strategic action plan which includes intelligence led policing, Community and stakeholders partnership, inter agency collaboration, zero tolerance on corrupt practices, strict adherence to the rule of law and lawful discharge of duties without fear or favour.

 

Highlight of the visit was the presentation of an Excellent Service Award to the Commissioner by the Anambra State Command of the NHFSS for CP Adeoye’s open door policy which has contributed to the drastic reduction of crime and criminality in Anambra State.
