In order to enhance practical learning, especially for science students, dilapidated Chemistry and Physics laboratory buildings at Community High School, Aguluzigbo have been renovated and commissioned through the efforts of the Transition Committee Chairman of Anaocha Local Government Area, ChiefGerald Ozoh.
Speaking during the commissioning, the Principal Secretary to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Barrister Joachin Anaetoh, who advised students of the school to be focused in their academic pursuits, promised to ensure that the laboratories and other structures in the school are well equipped, and also promised to institute an academic award in the school as a motivation for the students.
In his remark, the Anaocha Local Government TC Chairman, Chief Ozoh, appreciated Governor Soludo for the visible difference he is making in the education sector with employment and improved welfare of teachers, free education and other critical interventions.
He noted that Anaocha Council Area is not left out of the Governor’s development projects, as the council had benefitted in roads infrastructure, healthcare and education.
The Principal of the school, Mrs. Celestina Obiechina, who appreciated Chief Ozoh for the intervention, however called for concerted efforts from well-meaning members of Aguluzigbo community to equip the laboratories and provide other learning infrastructure for the school.
A Board Member of the Post Primary School Service Commission Awka, Dr. Uche Okeke, revealed that the school’s laboratories and that of other schools in the state will be equipped through the intervention of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, and re-echoed the need for individuals to support the upliftment of quality education in the state.
The Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Anaocha Local Government Area, Chief Anthony Ugorji, thanked the state government and the Anaocha TC Chairman for their developmental programmes in the council area, while the Engineer that handled the project, Mr. Ikechukwu Ozoh, stated that the structure will stand the test of time.
The ceremony featured commissioning and tour of the laboratories as well as dance performances by the students.
Later, the Anaocha TC Chairman, Chief Ozoh, and his entourage proceeded to Akwaeze market, where the Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, laid foundation for lockup shops that will be built in the market.
The market, when completed, will give the area a face lift; in addition to improving the aesthetic and boosting businesses.
