Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo, says she is committed to using her healthy living crusade to raise a consciousness that prioritises good health, beginning from homes and schools.
The Governor’s Wife was speaking at Stella Maris College, Umueri, in Anambra East Local Government Area, in continuation of her healthy living hygiene education for boarding schools in the State.
Addressing the students, Mrs Soludo asked them to adopt simple health habits, hygiene, and general cleanliness, including how to take adequate care of their body, what they eat, and how they treat their environment
She taught them the importance of hand-washing, brushing their teeth twice a day, menstrual hygiene, nutrition, and physical fitness, and gave them tips on proper dietary modulations and the importance of drinking adequate water.
Mrs Soludo urged the students to take the healthy club rules and lessons seriously, advising them to always make use of the pad banks that have been set up in the school in the event of menstrual emergencies.
The principal of the school, Mrs Anastasia Ifem, said that by using her initiative to promote the right health culture across schools and households, the governor’s wife has not only shown how passionate she is about life but has gone a step further to prove that she cares about humanity.
She commended her for taking the intervention to schools and promised to keep supporting the healthy living club in her school to succeed.
