Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has led a one-minute silence in honour of the victims of the Ochanja market building collapse.
The one-minute silence was observed during the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Awka.
Governor Soludo, who expressed his sympathies and condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic incident, assured the people of the state that everything possible would be done to prevent such incidents from happening in the future, urging everyone to work together towards creating a safer environment for all citizens.
The one-minute silence was a solemn moment of reflection on the lives lost and the tragedy that befell the state.
Recall that on Monday, three out of the five buildings under construction at the Ochanja market collapsed; trapping several people under the rubble.
The Governor visited the scene of the collapsed building on Tuesday where he discovered that there were several fatalities.
