The Executive Committee of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, Anambra State Chapter, has nominated Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, for its prestigious Media Service Excellence Award.
This recognition is a testament to the ABS’s remarkable contributions to media coverage of the State and beyond.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place during the Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony of the NIPR Anambra State Chapter, slated for Friday, March twenty-two, 2024.
During the courtesy call on the Managing Director of ABS, the Chairman of the chapter, Professor Angela Nwammuo said that with the track record of excellence in broadcasting, ABS has consistently demonstrated its dedication to providing informative, engaging and impactful contents to its audience.
Professor Nwammuo highlighted that the nomination underscored the significance of ABS’s role in shaping the media landscape in Nigeria and reflects the organization’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and excellence.
Also Speaking, a Past Council member of the institute, Reverend Father Boniface Obiefuna said that ABS stands as a beacon of excellence within the media industry, setting a benchmark for others to follow.
The Chairman of the AGM planning Committee, Dr Ikenna Umeanole noted that the importance of media in the society cannot be overemphasized as it serves as a watchdog, informing the public, shaping opinions, and holding those in power accountable and noted that the nomination of ABS for award is a testament to their unwavering commitment to journalistic integrity, professionalism and dedication to serving Ndi Anambra while pledging for a stronger collaboration with the station.
Responding, the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Sir Chido Obidiegwu expressed gratitude for the acknowledgment, stating that the nomination reaffirms the organization’s commitment to journalistic integrity, professionalism and excellence in media service.
The ABS Boss noted that the organization takes great pride as a trusted source of information and a platform for dialogue and engagement within the community, even as he urged the NIPR to use their various platforms to project the vision of the Soludo’s administration while assuring them of full collaboration.
